Harrisburg, PA, June 2, 2015, Govan A. Martin III, a self-employed consultant, is recognized by Elite American Public Servants for dedication, achievement and leadership in law enforcement.
Mr. Martin worked with the Pennsylvania State Police for 29 years. Retiring as a corporal, Mr. Martin is now consulting and training in different areas, specifically law enforcement employee assistance programs, critical incident stress management training and law enforcement suicide. He has extensive experience in this area as he created the law enforcement employee assistance program for the state of Pennsylvania, and holds multiple certifications in both suicide prevention and critical incident stress. Mr. Martin is a Master Trainer in QPR (Question Persuade Refer), a national best practice in suicide prevention, an instructor for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and also a trainer in Psychological First Aid.
Aside from his consulting endeavors, Mr. Martin is also an instructor for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation in Group Crisis Intervention. Additionally, he is active with the Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Coalition steering committee and on the planning committee for the annual Pennsylvania Suicide Prevention Conference. He attributes his success to his dedication and commitment to change lives. In the coming years, Mr. Martin intends to continue improving the program and explore opportunities in consulting.
