Petersburg, VA, July 22, 2016, Delores Yvonne Randolph, Retired Captain of the Petersburg Bureau of Police and the Founder and Co-Owner of the Chesterfield Security Training Academy, Inc., has been recognized by Elite American Public Servants, for dedication, achievement and leadership in law enforcement services.

Recognized for four decades of service, Ms. Randolph’s career in law enforcement started because of her desire to help others. She spent 31 years in law enforcement, and helped open the Chesterfield Security Training Academy, Inc. in 1995. She has been a DCJS instructor for more than 30 years, and focuses on providing general instructing to the public in matters pertaining to cultural diversity, sex crime investigations, juvenile matters, community policing and arrest procedures. At the training school, she is responsible for overseeing operations, developing courses and training students and other trainers. In addition, she has received trained on terrorism through the police department and is certified to instruct on the topic from private security. Additionally, she has eight years of experience in instructing with the Virginia Policing Institute and six years of instructing experience with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Ms. Randolph received a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a minor on philosophy from Saint Leo University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1993. Furthermore, she is certified in administrative officer’s management from North Carolina State University. She maintains affiliation with the police department with membership to the Petersburg Police Athletic League. For her work, Ms. Randolph has been recognized on several occasions. She was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2011 by Private Officer International. She is the recipient of the Purple Heart Award, the Chief’s Special Recognition Award, the Meritorious Duty Award, the Expert Firearms Award, an eleven-time recipient of the Safe Driving Award, and a twelve-time recipient of the Progress Award, and an eleven-time recipient. She is active in her community and is involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Special Olympics.
